How to Earn Points — Worksite Health Promotion
You can earn 5 points weekly (30 points maximum for the entire Live Well Challenge) for participating in a worksite health promotion activity.Participate in a Worksite Activity
- Host or attend a healthy lunch or breakfast potluck.
- Make you meetings healthier – use the Healthy Meeting Guidelines to provide healthier food choices and add physical activity
- Start or join walking group at your worksite and walk during your lunch break.
- Lead or join a stretch break at work.
Eat Smart
- Try a new fruit or vegetable and share it with a co-worker
- Sign up for the recipe of the week and try a new healthy recipe
- Examine what you eat and learn how to create a healthier plate with Analyze your Plate
- Use Recipe Remix to reduce the fat, calories, and sodium in your favorite comfort foods
- Test your food label knowledge
- Learn how today's portions compare to the portions available 20 years ago
- Take a calorie quiz to learn how many portions of healthy foods you could eat for the same number of calories in a not-so-healthy food item
- Track you food intake with a food diary
- Listen to a nutrition related podcast from CDC or from MyPyramid
Move More
- Find more minutes by participating in a local physical activity event
- Test your heart disease and physical activity I.Q.
- Use an Activity Tracker or physical activity diary to track your progress toward a goal
- Take a fitness fact or fiction quiz
- Use a walking map to discover a new route near your worksite or home
- Try a quick desk workout
- Watch a short physical activity video from Discovery Health television shows like Body Invaders and FitTV or get workout tips from Dr. Oz
- Listen to a physical activity related podcast from CDC
