Health and Insurance Enrollment

Health and insurance benefits are explained in the new hire enrollment guide provided at your New Employee Orientation. The guide includes the forms you need to enroll you and your eligible family members for coverage (and phone numbers to call and Web sites to visit if you have questions).

(If you're a part-time Local 587 employee and qualify for the Full Benefits Guide, your guide is mailed to you when you qualify.)

Return the guide's enrollment forms no later than 30 days (regular and Local 587 employees) or a week (deputy sheriffs) after you begin work. Otherwise, default coverage may be assigned and your eligible family members may not be enrolled!

Your benefit coverage begins the first calendar day of the month following your hire date (the first day you report to work). However, if your hire date is the first calendar day of the month, your coverage begins the same day.
