Your Bus Pass and Employee Photo ID/Keycard

All King County employees receive a photo identification card that works as a keycard to access facilities as needed. Employees who are eligible for benefits receive a keycard called a FlexPass, which allows them to ride free on the Metro Transit, Sound Transit, Pierce Transit, and Community Transit bus systems, and The Sounder Train.

These bus passes are not transferable—they’re for use by eligible employees only—and must be returned when the holder leaves employment with King County.

Kitsap Transit and Washington State Ferries

Employees who live on the west side of Puget Sound and commute by bus on Kitsap Transit and/or on the ferry can purchase a Kitsap Transit/Washington State Ferries bus pass at a reduced price. Visit the Kitsap Transit/WSF page for more information.

How to get your card

To get your bus pass/photo ID/keycard, you will need:

  • Current photo identification (such as a driver’s license)
  • ID/keycard request form signed by your manager
  • New Employee/ID Bus Pass request form

ID/keycard request forms are issued by your department ID coordinator. For a list of department ID coordinators or to make an appointment for a card, call 206-296-0104. New transit operators receive their bus passes during training.
